Arriving at the hotel, Mayakovsky and Esenin simultaneously began to prove to each other that Mayakovsky was the last genius of world literature, and Esenin was the first. All in all, it was like the best days of friendship. One read his poems and seemed ready to fight, the other called himself a genius and thought that one of them was a fool. And then it turned out that both were scoundrels and both were right. Yesenin threw a book at Mayakovsky, saying that there was no need for any Pushkin, who could only appropriate other people's creative discoveries and forced people to look for a soul abroad, and that Pushkin is not a name, but a dirty pseudonym, and for his lies he will have to answer to God. Mayakovsky fired a nagan into the air, the doormen came running to the shots, and then Yesenin said that, in his opinion, Mayakovsky is not a poet, but a criminal.
Comments are closed.
